Plate studies

A plate held in light

Plating is a balance of detail and restraint. A surface catches light, colour holds against shadow, and a small gesture becomes legible because nothing around it is competing for notice. Seasonal dining is felt here as an atmosphere rather than a list: a plate that encourages a closer look before the first shared response at the table.

The table as composition

A finished plate meets linen, ceramic, glass and the wider architecture of the table. These materials are not scenery; they provide the tactile field in which a meal is received. The atmosphere is composed rather than staged, making room for the practical pleasures of sharing food and the slower pleasure of noticing what holds the room together.

The table is where the room becomes intimate.
